Our son struggled deeply—multiple suicide attempts, didn’t finish traditional school, but earned his GED. After years of treatment, he’s now living on his own.I’ve learned this: no one’s bar is yours. Every child’s path is different.I don’t judge other parents anymore—you never know what’s going on behind closed doors.I’ve stayed close to my kids not through punishment, but through love, interest, and presence—piano for choir, volunteering in class, coaching sports, hosting dance dinners and teen hangouts.We worked and lived side-by-side—cooking, gardening, cleaning, and building businesses together.We made mistakes, but our goal was never just to raise good kids—it was to raise great adults.
