Health Matters on Midday, where we dig into health topics you might be curious about.  The start of a new year means the start of resolutions galore. Many choose to stop drinking in the new year, or at least for the first month of the new year. It's a trending practice called "Dry January," and it's been picking up steam over the last 15 years or so. Dr. Richard Ferguson, President-Black Physicians of Utah, joins Maria Shilaos to discuss the many physical and mental benefits that come from abstaining from any alcohol, and why he thinks more people should consider a month-long fast from alcohol.
