In this episode, school leaders from Joplin, Missouri share an uplifting story about how a school district turned to its community in the face of disaster to create new hope and inspiration with the creation of the “Bright Futures” community outreach program. Guests: Dr. C.J. Huff has been an educator for the past 19 years. He has served children as an elementary teacher, elementary principal, and superintendent of schools. Most recently, he served as the superintendent of schools in Joplin, Missouri for the past 7 years. Recently retired, Dr. Huff is currently an education and leadership consultant focusing on strategic leadership and community engagement. Rick Neal is in his fourth year as the Superintendent of Schools of the Pea Ridge School District in Pea Ridge, Arkansas. Rick previously served as the principal at Pea Ridge High School before being elevated to the superintendent’s post.
