PROJECT AUDION 74: Eno Crime Clues In the Spirit of the Spooky Season, Project Audion goes back 90 years for our latest recreation! From the early days of the classic era of audio drama, we're bringing to life a unique ghost-story/murder-mystery episode of a radio series which is now so forgotten that it might well be a ghost: Eno Crime Clues. Mind you, in the early 1930s Eno Crime Clues was a major radio hit, airing hundred of episodes about detective Spencer Dean (known as "The Manhunter") and his partner, Dan Cassidy. Eno "Fruit Salts" (which are still around today) was the sponsor. Many of the shows were two-parters, with the audience invited to guess the killer at the end of the first episode. But this particular lost script from 1936 (late in the series' run) took the show in a new direction. You know how Orson Welles' War of the Worlds made such an impact by making the story sound like a genuine on-the-spot broadcast? Turns out he wasn't the first.
