Safiya makes a case for legal protections for Intersex and Transgender people, against arguments from the 'liberalist' community that they should not be protected. She believes that if 'liberalists' were to truly follow their ideals, they would support bathroom use by trans people, as well as laws to protect them from being fired due to their transition and the right to amend birth certificates to reflect the identity of the individual.
