Astros rookie AJ Blubaugh made his MLB debut, striking out six over four innings, but was undone by a five-run third inning that included Javy Báez’s ninth career grand slam. All five runs were unearned following a Jeremy Peña throwing error. Jeremy Peña led off the game with his first career leadoff homer, and José Altuve added a two-run double in the fifth. Victor Caratini’s solo shot in the seventh brought the Astros within three, but they ultimately stranded 12 runners and went 2-for-11 with runners in scoring position. Lance McCullers is set to make his season debut Sunday versus the White Sox.Locked On Astros is a daily podcast about the Houston Astros, hosted by Eric Huysman and Brett Chancey.
