Sexual Addiction:strength/hope/recovery

Carol the Coach will be interviewing Deborah Schiller who is the Program Director of Gratitudes at Pine Grove Treatment Center. She will be discussing what going into a residential treatment center is like for  an individual who presents with sexual addiction, sexual anorexia, or relationship compulsivity (called by some love addiction). She will discuss the definitions of addictions  and the existence of process addictions, such a sex addiction, which is sometime controversial. There are genetic and environmental components to all addictions. These factors as well as thinking problems, emotional disregulation, and ongoing problematic behaviors are taken into consideration when a treatment plan is designed for a residential patient. She will talk about  how sexual addiction is diagnosed and what the chance for maintaining a live of recovery is.
