Synopsis
We all have expectations about the ones we love and who they are to become. What we choose to pattern ourselves after represents what we hold sacred. God told Cain not to allow sin to master him or it will consume him. In Genesis chapter 3, God’s prophecy to Eve leads her to believe that it was Cain that would deliver her redemption. She thought the one she held in arms was her hope, deliverance, and her promise, but what she really held was a liar and a killer. A killer only after he was consumed by sin. A liar once he went down that sinful path. Offering is demonstrated by Cain and Abel, but what was an acceptable offering? There are many different offerings and many different reasons for an offering.
