I hang my clergy collar on Jesus’ answer to the tempter as recorded in Matthew 4:4, “But He [Jesus] answered [the tempter] and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God’.” I don’t live by asking myself what Jesus “would” do. I live by what Jesus “did” do and what He “did” say. He said that He came not to judge the world but that the world through him might have life and have it more abundantly. He said He came to mak
