On Sunday Karra told a story of her own making, a story of a family filled with different longings, and hoping to give gifts to meet the needs of their family members. This concluded our Advent series "The Heart that Seeks." The advent season often begins with awareness of longing. We sing "Come Long Expected Jesus" and remember the promises, the waiting, the hoping of a nation for salvation. Yet all that is to come in this season was born of a longing much older than a nation. A longing that is as old and as wide as the world. Christmas began with God’s longing for salvation and restoration of the world He created.
