Has God ever told you something that you thought, “Maybe I need to seek someone else’s opinion about this?” Maybe he’s told you to get up and move next week, or to give your car away, or don’t take that job promotion, or something else that just sounds crazy to human ears. When you KNOW that God has told you something, DON’T seek another’s opinion! Godly counsel is a good thing, but we cannot put it ABOVE God’s opinion, God’s word to us. Imagine what might have happened if Abraham had asked Sarah’s opinion of taking Isaac to sacrifice him on an altar, because God told him to. Or any of the servants he brought with them. Abraham held to God’s character even when what God told him sounded crazy.
