Chaos of a 6-1 defeat and a 9-0 victory, victory in Paris and defeat in Istanbul, a thumping of Leeds, wins at City, last-minute blocks, 40-yard lobs, Cup disappointment, penalty shoot-out despondency. And in the end, when it finally came to its conclusion after 61 games, fans had finally returned.
