He also shares a parable and some tips to help stop overthinking, especially if you're just starting out in the trade. In many cases, the simplest assumption is the right one (this is called Occam's Razor). We can always start with the most obvious or simplest possible answer. We can become mindful of our tools, such as by making sure our seals are intact, and we become masters of the obvious. Perfecting little things (and micro-tasks) can help you become more familiar with the tools you use and the equipment you work on, and you start to develop a bigger-picture understanding of your craft.
