On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) is joined by Florida Panthers Historian Francisco Oporta(@fjojr and @FLACatsHistory) to recap the Panthers' 5-4 overtime loss against the New York Rangers from Amerant Bank Arena. It's now the second straight game in which the Panthers lose in the extra frame (won 11 games in a row in OT prior to the last two). The Panthers controlled play once again on the night, but New York once again picked their spots to create mistakes into goals on the night, with untimely pinches, tip-in's, and New York's counter attack. Florida had six power play opportunities on the afternoon, where Sam Reinhart scored his first goal on the man advantage since Game 4 of Round One, then added another later in the first period. There was a missed opportunity for Florida when the Rangers Defenseman Jacob Trouba went to the box for two separate penalties.
