Cumberland Falls in Kentucky, Noccalula Falls Cataract and channel at the foot of Lookout Mountain in Gadsden Alabama, and Bonas Defeat on the Tuckasegee River of western North Carolina all show effects of dramatic and transformative flood action, most likely from extended rainstorm “pluvial” flood-flows. Bouncing out to New Mexico’s Valles Caldera and it’s drainage from an impounded lake within the Grand Valley, and the curious towering hoodoos of the least visited National Park in the Chiricahuan Mountains, we look at the evidence of sudden overwhelming rainfalls reshaping the landscapes, that few people get to witness or perceive...
