As we move into a new year, you are probably setting some new goals. If you want to reach those goals over the next 12 months, you need to know your numbers. You can use your podcast to grow your business and make some money. In order to do that, you need to set specific goals with specific targets. That includes knowing exactly what you want to achieve. BE SPECIFIC Let's say you want to grow your downloads. That goal isn't specific enough. It is like losing weight. You will never lose weight unless you are specific about the amount of weight you want to lose. When you state that you want to lose 30 pounds by May 1st, you can measure your progress and determine if you reach your goal. When you say, "I want to lose weight", you can't tell if and when you've reached that goal. Over the next 12 months, how much would you like to grow your podcast downloads? Be specific. This past summer, I was able to double my monthly downloads by knowing my numbers. I set the goal and took specific action to hit those numbers.
