Synopsis
On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) is joined by Nick Fairbanks(@prudentia0) to recap Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Final between the Panthers and the Hurricanes. Both teams showed a lot of jump out of the gate, and it was a 40 minutes that was promising for the Panthers. Panthers only got 2 SOG in the this period which allowed Carolina to score to tie the game and send it to OT. The Panthers thought they had the overtime winner via Ryan Lomberg but was called back to due goaltender interference. 3 more OT periods and 3 hours later(along with a bunch of chances by both teams) the Panthers end with 12 second left in Quadruple OT as Matthew Tkachuk(who had a quiet game offensively) scores the OT winner off of a Carolina turnover in their own zone. Thursday night's game was the 6th longest game in NHL History, and the Panthers first multiple OT game since 2016(#TrocheckWasTripped). Panthers are now 5-0 in OT this postseason and 8-0 since the 2021 postseason
