Nehemiah 12.27 NLT 'For the dedication of the new wall of Jerusalem, the Levites throughout the land were asked to come to Jerusalem to assist in the ceremonies. The rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem was an incredibly significant moment and we are given a wonderful picture of the people’s celebrations. The Levites had the leading responsibility for worship and so they were brought into Jerusalem from all over the country for this special moment. There was a wide range of musical instruments from trumpets and harps to lyres and cymbals, and Nehemiah organised the singers into two choirs who walked in different directions around the walls of the city.
