Part of the festivities for Carthage College's homecoming this weekend is a celebration of the 150th anniversary of the first band concert at Carthage (back in the days when the college was located in Carthage, Illinois.) Joining me today is Dr. James Ripley, current director of the bands at Carthage, and two of his predecessors: Dr. Woodrow Hodges and Dr. Ken Winkle. (All three will share the podium for the homecoming concert Saturday night which will include the participation of a Sesquicentennial Alumni Band.)
