In his new series, Pastor George Sawyer explains that in scripture, 40 days not only represent a length of time, but also a season of testing or proving. These seasons can precede advancement and promotion. Testing is when we have the opportunity to prove we are ready for the next thing. God does not want to put us in a situation we’re not ready for. In part 1, Pastor Sawyer uses the example of the disciples during Jesus's 40 days on Earth after His resurrection. The disciples had victories and failures during their season of testing, but Jesus helped and restored the disciples through it all, as He does today for us.
