Imre is researching how we could use the eye as a less expensive, better tolerated, and faster marker to monitor the progression of neurodegeneration. He undertakes clinical eye imaging and use postmortem tissues to generate molecular and high-resolution anatomical confirmation for the changes we see in eye images.
