Synopsis
Community Rehabilitation Officer, Rob Thomson, is warning people - and GPs - in the Wirral not to overlook symptoms that could potentially be signs of the deadly pancreatic cancer. Rob’s campaign for better symptom awareness has been prompted by losing his wife Alison to the disease in March 2018, aged 54, and just a few months after she was diagnosed. He is also embarking on a week’s worth of information and fundraising events starting 18 June at The Oak Bar & Bistro in Greasby in Alison’s memory, to raise awareness among the community that both he and Alison have spent their lives serving, and to raise money for more research into the disease. Lynn Quigley, Community Coordinator from Pancreatic Cancer UK was also alongside Rob in the studio.
