Stacy Gooden-Crandle was eight days from turning 27 when her son Derick unexpectedly made his appearance, four months early! She says, “I had a normal pregnancy with Derick. Nothing was abnormal, and there were no complications prior to the date he was born.”Derick was born at just 2 lbs., 9 oz. without a heartbeat and was hospitalized at the Memorial Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for nearly five months. Doctors said that Derick only had a 1% chance of survival, but Stacy said she wanted everything done to try to save her son. I don't think even Stacy would have imagined the future God has for her baby boy.
