In 1999, she played a foul-mouthed pensioner with a penchant for reptiles in a creature-feature from Fox and Stan Winston Studios. Co-starring Bill Pullman, Bridget Fonda, Oliver Platt and Brendan Gleeson, written by Ally McBeal creator David E. Kelley, and directed by horror helmer Steve Miner, the movie didn’t exactly take a chunk out of the box office but it kept its head above water long enough to earn five low-budget made-for-TV sequels.
