When Danielle McLean was a high school hockey player, growing up in hockey-mad Boston, she fought a 7-game series against Hodgkin's lymphoma. Her favorite game is what helped pull her through. A few years later, she skated forward to embrace her truth and forge through her transition. Hockey was her canvas. A safe space. A place to belong. On April 20, she put words to emotions to CNN.com and gave her view and her story, with the backdrop of the continuing "debate" over trans people in sport, and what position they should play.
