Synopsis

Welcome to For the Republic: A Love Letter to Star Wars Animation! On today’s episode, Andrew (@StarlightAndrew) & Conor (@DepaBanana) are joined by David (@SWHistorian) to discuss the Ahsoka episodes of Tales of the Jedi! We talk the essential themes of Ahsoka's story throughout the shorts, including her birth, first hunt, importance of the Togruta culture, and discovery of her Force sensitivity. The strength of Anakin as her master, and how his teachings helped her survive Order 66, and her encounter with an Inquisitor and reunion with Bail Organa! We also have an important discussion on potential retcons in the third short, specifically regarding the erasure of LGBTQ+ representation in the Ahsoka novel. We finish off with our overall thoughts on the anthology series, and future stories we'd like to see if more seasons happen. Episodes Discussed: "Life and Death" (S1E1), "Practice Makes Perfect" (S1E5), "Resolve" (S1E6) Listen to The Star Wars Historians Show-https://open.spotify.com/show/62r2r8gAwvJYXd
