Synopsis
Vidcast: https://youtu.be/d6FZF7Pm9GI A deep dive nutritional analysis of a popular plant-based meat substitute compared with real meat shows that 90% of critical metabolite levels differ between these two product categories. Duke University molecular physiologists report these critical discrepancies following their metabolic profiling of a popular meat substitute and grass-fed ground beef. Ingredients necessary for a healthy human body found only in real beef include creatine, spermine, anserine, cysteamine, glucosamine square, and an omega-3 fatty acid DHA. In all, beef contained 22 metabolites missing in plant-based substitutes, and the plant-based product contains 31 metabolites that meat doesn’t contain. Real meat and meat substitutes are not nutritionally interchangeable. https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-021-93100-3 #beef #plantbasedmeat #nutrition
