One of our favorite interviews of 2021-  Former Oak Creek High School student-athlete Ben Kawczynski and his parents recount the thrilling experience of Ben winning the national high school wrestling championship at 285 pounds (he was unseeded entering the national tournament.) Update: Ben is now a freshman at the University of La Crosse and as of early December had a win-loss record of 9-1, with his only loss coming at the hands of the nation's #-2 ranked collegiate wrestler at 285 pounds.

This is one of our favorite Morning Show interviews from 2021. (The interview previously posted was actually an earlier conversation.  This is the interview that took place in March of this year, in which Professor Barnhart responds to the claims made by a previous Morning Show guest who wrote a book about handwriting analysis.)  

One of our best Morning Show interviews from 2021:   Dr. Anthony Barnhart, Associate Professor of Psychological Science at Carthage College.  Professor Barnhart came on the Morning Show to refute some of the claims made by a previous Morning Show guest (the author of a book about handwriting analysis.)   We also talked about one of Professor Barnhart's expertise as a magician.    

One of our best Morning Shows from 2021-  Dr. Sandra Moats discusses her most recent book, "Navigating Neutrality."   This interview was conducted and recorded at a live event on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, where Dr. Moats is a Professor of History.  

One of our best Morning Show interviews of 2021:  Former White Supremacists Jesse Morton and Tony McAleer, who spoke at an event at Carthage College called OUT OF HATRED.  

One of our favorite interviews from 2021:   Author Matthew Paul Turner talks about the experience of completing the final book by Rachel Held Evans, who died unexpectedly before she was able to finish "What is God Like?", a breathtakingly beautiful children's book.

This is a Christmas special that was conceived by WGTD volunteer Jean Evans back in the early 1990s.   It has not aired in at least 20 years. It combines distinctive Christmas music and poetry.  

One of our favorite Morning Show interviews from 2021:  Rollo Dilworth, one of the country's most renowned choral composers, arrangers and conductors.   He visited the campus of Carthage College this fall as the lead clinician for Carthage's Treble Chorale Festival.  

In another favorite interview from 2021,  I speak with best-selling author Tim O'Brien about his most recent book,  "Dad's Maybe Book," a memoir in which he talks about the joys and challenges of becoming a father for the first time at the age of 56.  O'Brien is probably best-known for his memoir "The Things They Carried" which recounts some of his experiences as a soldier in the Viet Nam War.

One of our favorite interviews from 2021:  Olympian Jordan Windle and his father Jerry Windle spoke with us right before Jordan headed to Tokyo to represent the U.S. in the 10-meter platform diving event.  Jerry adopted Jordan from an orphanage in Cambodia, and the two of them collaborated on a beautiful children's book titled "An Orphan No More."  

One of our favorite Morning Show interviews from 2021:  Composer Jim Stephenson talks about the honor of having one of his fanfares performed at the inauguration of President Joe Biden.  

From 2005 -  Steve Alten ("The Meg") talks about his novel "The Loch."

For Nan Calvert's final visit to the Morning Show in 2021, she speaks to three women who have or have had some sort of affiliation with RootPikeWIN - and in two cases have gone on to do important environmental work with other entities.  

First, we talk about the Choral Arts Society's upcoming Lessons and Carols performances this weekend (in Waterford Friday night and in Racine Sunday afternoon.)   Then we talk about Jim's work with Racine Vocational Ministries,  that seeks to help people recently released from prison find their way into the workforce.   He also weighs in on what was said in last week's Morning Show interview with Jeffrey Kozemik, whose book "Untapped Talent" talks about the benefits of hiring the recently incarcerated.
