We are naturally born into our human family but through the second birth, we are born into our spiritual family. All those who believe in the name of Jesus are family for we listen to the same Father.

The Pharisees added rules and regulations to God's law. They were incensed at the actions of the disciples, but missed the truth of the living word in their very presence.

We have received so much light and truth and we are responsible to act according to our knowledge of God's will. But that is not a heavy burden for us if we rest upon Him.

Look No Further. There is no one else coming who can save you. John the Baptist was discouraged when he did not see Jesus acting as he had expected. Jesus is a stumbling block but blessed is the man who does not fall away.

The Jews rejected Joseph and he saved them from death later on. They rejected Moses, and Moses led them out of captivity. As Stephen reminds them of this history, and how they went on to reject Jesus, they put Stephen to death, scattering the church and leading to further spreading of the word.

Charles Spurgeon said that he believes that a very large majority of church goers are merely unthinking slumbering worshipers of an unknown god. Like the men of Athens, they are religious, but lack relationship with the one true God.

Fear of man keeps us from sharing Jesus with others. If we have a relationship with Christ, we can share our personal story and experience more easily. But if we deny Him, what will Jesus do?

Pastor Rich shares a little about what his journey with God has been like and continues in Matthew where we learn that when Jesus sends us out, He sends us to the lost with the message of repentance for the Kingdom of heaven is near. He equips us so that we do not need to depend on ourselves.

Who were the apostles? Pastor Rich gives us a biblical and historical perspective on these twelve men. Each had an encounter with Jesus and each was a part of God's plan. As believers, we too have a calling and can be used by God.

If you believe in Jesus you've answered His first calling. But how can we know what He wants to do with our lives? An open heart is needed for the answer.

Jesus had compassion on the people who were being harassed and had no one to show them the way. The harvest we are to reap is these lost people. Pray for opportunity and make the most of each one granted.

We must always come to Jesus in faith with our problems. Faith comes through trust in His authority and we must submit to what He wants to do. Faith and obedience work together.

Do we seek religion or relationship? Strict adherence to tradition can rob us of joy but it is the joy of the Lord that is our strength.

If there's hope for Matthew, there's hope for us! Matthew left all behind to follow Jesus, yet it was Jesus who followed Matthew back to where the sinners were.

It is time to seek the Lord and we seek Him through reading, praying, and serving.

Intersession with action is a powerful combination. Are we afraid to let others see our faith? When we act together with other believers, we have the strength and courage to do great things.

Even the demons know who Jesus is and that a time of judgment is coming. We can stand against attack, but not in our own strength; we need to rebuke the forces of darkness in the name of Jesus who came to set the captives free.

Sometimes following Jesus means going into a storm. We often ask God to take the storms away but do we ever ask Him to help us weather the storms more peacefully?

How much will it cost us to follow Jesus? Eternal life is a free gift, but true discipleship costs all we have. Yet while the cost is high, the value of belonging to Christ is even higher.
