New Castle Bible Church: Adult Discipleship Electives

The Old Testament spans thousands of years that promise and foreshadow the coming of Jesus. Using history, law, poetry and prophesy, the books of the Old Testament describe the relationship between man and God and our ultimate need for a redeemer. Part one will consist of twelve lessons beginning in Genesis.

Study this small book of the Old Testament that has big meaning for our lives today and teaches us about the character of God and how we should interact with Him in our daily lives.

Follow along with your student as we study the Gospel Project curriculum. Study the same lessons as your Sunday School student but at a deeper level to provide connection points for family discussion.

2 Timothy 2:15 describes the workman who does not need to be ashamed as one who is able to "rightly divide the Word of Truth." The New Testament is a collection of 27 distinct books, yet each is a part of the whole. The spring 2019 class (New Testament Survey 1) will take a 30,000 foot look at the first half of the New Testament; the second half (New Testament Survey 2) will be examined later in the fall. These 27 books were penned from about 45 AD to 95 AD. It is our prayer that this course will draw you to read them all.

Learn with others as we train in evangelism - how to share The Story of Jesus Christ with others. 78% of the unchurched said they were open to a spiritual conversation. We may be for more afraid to talk to people than they are unwilling to listen. Let's dispel our fears by learning the "how" of evangelism. 

In the third chapter of 1 Thessalonians, Paul writes, "now may our God and father himself and our Lord Jesus, direct our way to you, and may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, as we do for you, so that you may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints." This prayer from Paul to God on behalf of the Thessalonian church, is the same we have for you as we study 1 Thessalonians.

Introduction of theological foundations and practices of biblical counseling to “teach and admonish one another in all wisdom” (Col. 3:16).

The book of Joshua is the story of God's bringing his redeemed people into the land He promised them, and clearly points to the One who would finally and perfectly save His people, Jesus Christ. This study will help us to see God's promises are just as good and true for us today as they were in Joshua's day, causing us to grow in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ as we trust and obey His Word.
