New Castle Bible Church: Adult Discipleship Electives

2 Timothy 2:15 describes the workman who does not need to be ashamed as one who is able to "rightly divide the Word of Truth." The New Testament is a collection of 27 distinct books, yet each is a part of the whole. The spring 2019 class (New Testament Survey 1) will take a 30,000 foot look at the first half of the New Testament; the second half (New Testament Survey 2) will be examined later in the fall. These 27 books were penned from about 45 AD to 95 AD. It is our prayer that this course will draw you to read them all. 

An advanced lesson the children/students learn during Sunday School to provide connection points between parents and children/students as they discuss the material.

 Topic:  The historicity of the resurrection Learn to honor God and defend the faith per 1 Peter 3:15 - but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect

Introduction of theological foundations and practices of biblical counseling to “teach and admonish one another in all wisdom” (Col. 3:16).

In the third chapter of 1 Thessalonians, Paul writes, "now may our God and father himself and our Lord Jesus, direct our way to you, and may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, as we do for you, so that you may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints." This prayer from Paul to God on behalf of the Thessalonian church, is the same we have for you as we study 1 Thessalonians.

The book of Joshua is the story of God's bringing his redeemed people into the land He promised them, and clearly points to the One who would finally and perfectly save His people, Jesus Christ. This study will help us to see God's promises are just as good and true for us today as they were in Joshua's day, causing us to grow in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ as we trust and obey His Word.

It's always exciting to watch kids/students who grow up at New Castle Bible Church live out their faith as adults. This Sunday we are honored with a visit from "NCBC kids/students turned faithful adults," Brock and Sami Lockenour. Brock and Sami will be sharing about their ministry that reaches the lost in Chinatown, Chicago during Kyle Krall's 1 Thessalonians Adult Discipleship Elective at 9:30a Sunday (class meets in the South Classroom). Be encouraged by their words and learn how you can reach the lost in your own community.

52% of Christians have not shared their faith in the past 12 months. Beautiful things become more so when they are shared with others. Learn with others as we train in evangelism - how to share The Story of Jesus Christ with others. 78% of the unchurched said they were open to a spiritual conversation. We may be for more afraid to talk to people than they are unwilling to listen. Let's dispel our fears by learning the "how" of evangelism.
