Timothy Keller, a well-known pastor and author, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer over 2 years ago and despite a grim diagnosis, the Lord has given him more time. He has some words for you in your time of uncertainty.

Maybe there's something or someone you've been praying for recently and it just feels like the line between you and God got disconnected. Wow have I been there!When that happens I sometimes wonder if I did something wrong. I remember feeling that way with my mom. Was my prayer not good enough? God, are you mad at me? I disagree! Prayers for healing are the safest prayers we can pray because God always says 'yes'. Now...let's define 'yes'. If he heals you here, your healing is temporary. It's still good and amazing, but it will not last forever. You will get sick again. You will die. I've never met a 2,000 year old Christian! But if he releases you from your mortal body, and heals you in THAT way, then, you are healed forever! No more sickness, no more pain, no more tears. Hurt in life is not an "if", but a "when." Typically, when I experience hurt, I just want to find the quickest route from point A to point B to get rid of those feelings as quick as I possibly can.I say this from experience: Take the time to heal. You and I don't have control over our hurt so why try and rush through it? Allow God to work out your hurt and your healing on his timeline even when it doesn't match your timeline. This school teacher started the "I Do Too!" movement to get her 1st grade students to socialize and I may just have to join in!She had every student stand up and one at a time they would say what the favorite color was, or their favorite food, or their favorite animal and if there was another student who had that thing in common, they'd yell out "I Do Too!" and would run over to the student who just shared. What ensued was pure joy: laughing, running around, talking with one another, friendships being formed. Don't you just love it? I do too!

We have moved 3 times in the last 3 weeks (I can hear the audible groans of sympathy) but during that time, I received a much needed encouragement from the unlikeliest of places.

I was out this weekend at a store making a return when I saw a security guard in yelling at the young lady, “You don’t have any shoes on!” and a customer added, “She stinks and she’s talking to herself, too!”, but what happened next is something I had to share with you.

He reached out to say that God had called him to not only to the faith, but ministry and that he got his degree as a Christian counselor
