  • Ctrl Alt WoW Episode 16 - Sweet Sixteen and I Got Mail

    18/03/2007 Duration: 39min

I got two whole emails Email #1 Hello! First, thanks so much for doing the show! I also especially appreciate your taking the extra effort to put chapters, artwork, and notes in for iTunes. :) It's extra work and I appreciate it lots! My first question is: How do you decide which alts to focus on at any one time? I only have 10 characters, all on the same server, but even that is enough to put me at sixes and sevens sometimes. When you sit down to play, how do you decide -who- to play? Second question: Do you let people know who all your alts are? I do, in that I have a traditional naming scheme for all my characters, which is that they must all begin with "Ab". The story behind that is a bit long, but anyway it lets everyone know, especially in the guild, who's an alt of mine and who's not, and that helps with any guild-related business I may have to take care of. People always know it's me so they always know how to get ahold of me. Thanks for your response! -- Abkani, guild master of Eldritch Way

  • Ctrl Alt WoW Episode 14 Starting All Over Again

    05/03/2007 Duration: 41min

What's Going On I spent some time "Seeding" Servers with my alts. The Lunar Festival is a great time to put alts up and get Flight Paths. Then when or if you want an alt on that server, then they already have the flight paths. I wanted a Ravager on my Blood Elf. I figured out a way to get my Horde Character into the Alliance starting area. All it took was some trial and error and some dying. • Ctrl Alt WoW Episode 13 - Good Thing I'm Not Superstitious

    26/02/2007 Duration: 40min

No. 1. What’s Going On Observations • Dranei men sound like Worf’s father, is there a connection? Saw the Drainei mounts, very cool • Tip: If you are near and heading back to the inn you hearthed from and you need just one more space in your bag, you can destroy the stone and get a new one at the end House Cleaning • I took all of my alts to their banks and cleaned out their banks and bags. You probably have some stuff that you needed to get your craft up to the current level, put what you don’t need on AH. Make it a fairly reasonable price. If it sells, you’ll have some more money, if it doesn’t, it will be mailed back to you, where you can keep it in your mailbox until you find another alt who needs it or you can use it, or sell it. This does mean you won’t know when you get new mail. But for me, that’s only important on my Banker alts to see if I sold something for big money on AH. You should already be sending all of your big AH stuff to your Banker alt. • Cleared Out Quest. o Looked for Quests that we

  • Ctrl Alt WoW Episode 12 Lunar Festival

    19/02/2007 Duration: 45min

What’s Going On Lunar Festival I don’t know about you, but I spent the weekend running my alts from city to city to pick up ancestry coins. While it might sound boring, it was actually quite enjoyable. Some alts got new flight paths and all the reputation points were well worth it. • Sometimes I only need 4 fireworks and 1 cluster bomb/got credit for 2 each time. • I did mostly the ones I could easily access and I tried to do it without going online. I couldn’t find the guy in the Hinterland, but I took Aprillian L57H • When opening the rest of your adoration packages, shift click to see what’s inside. The box of chocolate makes great buffs and are transferable in the package. You can hit esc and close the package back up and then mail it to an alt that can use it. Wow News World of Warcraft is pleased to announce our plans for the inaugural World of Warcraft Arena Tournament, scheduled to begin on February 16 in Europe and North America and March 3 in Korea. • Ctrl Alt WoW Episode 11 Valentine's Day Comes to Azeroth

    11/02/2007 Duration: 51min

Valentine's Day has come to Azeroth • Undercity Guardians are both male and female, they respond to both perfume and cologne. • Silvermoon and Exador were bugged and you couldn't buy tokens, perfume or cologne from the innkeepers Addons I like • CharacterViewer • Auctioneer I'm still buying and selling on both Alliance and Horde servers. If you remember from a previous podcast I mentioned how I ran my level 8 Dranie • Buying alliance bags and wool cloth that I couldn't get on the Horde AH. I ran into someone with a Netherwelp and did a quick interview.

Mac Book Pro on the right, following character with macro keyed to either number 7 or the hyphen Following character invites lead character to group, following character sets group loot to free for all Make sure we all have the same quest – I use FastQuestt Add on I want to do something about the game inside the game Each group has a set of goals that I want to get to next. I just try focusing on that goal. But sometimes I’ll hear about or think of something I want to try and then I’ll go try that.

  • Ctrl Alt WoW Episode 6 Were You Prepared

    21/01/2007 Duration: 36min

Ctrl Alt WoW Episode 006 – Were you prepared January 20, 2007 Segment I.    What’s Going On A.    Can I have your attention please - B.    Installing and running Burning Crusade – success C.     My train was late into Chicago, Amtrak was nice, they put us up in a hotel, but that meant I wouldn’t be getting home on Monday night as I planned.  I would have had just enough time to get in line at Ebgames and pick up the 2 copies I had reserved.  So Sunday night I’m stuck in Chicago trying to figure out how to get my copies of BC.  I would be on the train for almost 24 hours once I left Chicago Monday night, so there would be no way to get it.  Could I ask my husband to go to Ebgames Monday night and stand in line?  I don’t think so. No. 1.    Very very painless.   The installation took went pretty fast.  Four disks, a 163 mb patch, then a 4.3 mb patch and then that opening screen No. 2.    I started a blood elf and of course the starting area was jam packed.  But there was no lag and it was like Time Square on Ne

    15/01/2007 Duration: 41min

Segment I.    What’s Going On A.    I took a trip to California for MacWorld.  Tried to do last week’s podcast in a train station, not a good idea.  Was going to do this one on the train but learned from my mistake. B.    Just to familiarize those who didn’t listen to the first couple of podcasts or who might not remember, I divide my podcast into chapters, this way you can easily move back and forward within the podcasts.  The segments are: No. 1.    What’s Going On – this one No. 2.    WoW News No. 3.    Alt Round Up – I did have the Burning Crusade Beta in the line up but now that it’s about to go Gold, any discussion about BC will just fall into the normal layout. No. 4.    Server Shoutout – Listeners can email me and mention their guilds or just say hello No. 5.    In the House – How WoW affects you at home and how your home affects your WoW. No. 6.    Favorite Places in WoW – discusses little things about WoW that anyone can share, things that normally go unnoticed. No. 7.    Emails, when and if I get a

  • Ctrl Alt WoW Episode 4 - The Road to Burning Crusade

    07/01/2007 Duration: 29min

CTRL ALT WOW  004 The Road to Burning Crusade I WHAT’S GOING ON A.    Preparing for the Burning Crusade i.Most upper level folks have been grinding I suppose but I’ve been gathering materials.  Level 41 Hunter Treshel is mining her heart out.  Level 10 Alliance is mining copper so she can send to my new Dranei, then she will be deleted.  I feel kind of guilty knowing she’s working so hard only to be “killed” off. ii.    Took my 52 into Azshara to do Hunter Quest – Very hard and challenging solo but it was worth it.  Found the limit of riding through mobs B.    After listening to some other podcasts about World of Warcraft, I realized I needed to cover the “why I play World of Warcraft” subject.  I’ve touched on how I’ve come to play it, with some friends from Second Life, but I never really elaborated on why I love it so much. 1.    My history in gaming: a.    A little Magic the Gathering.  Mostly computer games.  Hitchhiker’s Guide Text game.  Played a version of Dungeons & Dragons on a DOS computer.  L

  • Ctrl Alt WoW Episode 3 - Happy New Year

    31/12/2006 Duration: 37min

I WHAT’S GOING ON A. What I’ve been doing i. Redoing Podcast, didn’t like the shortness, I felt rushed, going to try to make it less “ummish”. ii. 2.0 features I’ve been trying 1. Quick Loot – you can choose to just right click to loot instead of shift right clicking. Shift right clicking has the opposite effect and opens the loot box so you can pick and choose 2. Re-doing Talent trees – this is a lot of work when you have 18 alts. I am the epitome of casual player. I know there are certain preconceived notions of which trees to pick, but I just do the kid in the candy shop method, i.e. ooh this looks neat, I’ll click on that. I know on WoW website there’s a tree tester https://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/hunter/talents.html It lets you experiment with different trees and you can even print them out. iii. Holiday Quests - I don’t want to give out too much, they are fun little quests that go along with the season 1. The Alterac Mountains – Stolen Winterveil Treats 2. Rescue Metzen iv. Tried PvP in Al
