Today we're joined by D.L. Moody Center President Dr. James Spencer to discuss his book “Christian Resistance: Learning to Defy the World and Follow Christ." We discuss the many distractions of the day pulling our minds and hearts in different directions and how we can reorient ourselves to be in line with God. We look at the examples of Mary and Martha and what we can glean from the story and from how Jesus responds to Martha. We discuss how to know what activities are worthy of our time and what activities constitute distractions and why it's important to eliminate the desire for self-sufficiency. We also talk about our inherent need for imitation and how to correctly channel that, as well as whether busyness is ever glorifying to God.
